CBI in Miami: From a Skyline Dinner to SIBOS 2026 at the Miami Beach Convention Center
When CBI S.c.p.a. Società Benefit brought its team to Miami, the assignment was more than simply photographing a corporate event. Over two days, the company hosted and participated in experiences that required completely different approaches to photography, from an evening aboard a boat cruising past the Miami skyline to documenting its presence at Sibos at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
I was hired to photograph the first evening, which began with a welcome dinner aboard a boat traveling through Miami, giving guests an opportunity to network and enjoy the city from a completely different perspective.
Day One: A Welcome Dinner Along the Miami Skyline
The evening provided a unique setting for corporate photography. With the Miami skyline constantly changing in the background, the boat created a relaxed environment where guests could connect, talk, and enjoy dinner while taking in the views. My focus was on documenting the experience naturally, capturing conversations, groups of colleagues and guests, the atmosphere on board, and the Miami skyline throughout the evening. Rather than treating it like a traditional posed corporate event, the goal was to preserve the feeling of the experience while still creating polished images that CBI could use afterward.
One of the highlights of the evening was hearing Liliana Fratini Passi speak to the guests. Her presentation became an important part of the evening’s program and provided another opportunity to document both the speaker and the audience’s engagement.
On-Site 5×7 Photo Printing
Another special part of this assignment was the opportunity to provide on-site photo printing during the dinner. CBI wanted photographs of groups of guests printed as 5×7-inch photographs while the event was still taking place. This added an entirely different dimension to the photography experience.
Instead of simply delivering digital images after the event, guests were able to receive a physical photograph from the evening. Photographing the groups, quickly selecting and preparing the images, and producing prints on location allowed the photographs to become part of the event itself. For corporate dinners and networking events, small details like this can turn photography from something that happens in the background into something guests actively experience and take home with them.
Day Two: From the Boat to Sibos 2026 at the Miami Beach Convention Center
The following day brought a completely different environment. CBI participated in SIBOS 2026 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, one of Miami’s major international events for the financial services and banking industry. Organized by SWIFT under the theme “Digital Finance for AI-driven Economies,” Sibos draws thousands of banks, financial institutions, and technology providers from around the world, making it one of the highest-profile stages in global finance.
My assignment continued with photographing CBI’s presence at the event, with a particular focus on its exhibition booth. The contrast between the two days was significant. The first evening was centered around people, networking, dinner, and the Miami skyline. At the convention center, the focus shifted toward the company’s brand presence, booth design, interactions with visitors, and the energy of a major industry exhibition.
Trade show booth photography requires a different approach from an evening event. The goal is not simply to photograph the booth itself, but to show how the company is represented within a busy exhibition environment. I photographed the CBI booth from different perspectives, capturing the branding and design while also documenting the people interacting within the space. These images provide CBI with visual content that can be used to communicate its participation at Sibos and showcase the company’s presence to clients, partners, and audiences who may not have attended the event.
